Welcome back, friends! Today, I have something special for you - an exclusive interview with Alistair Oakly, one of the most intriguing characters from Broken Wings - the prequel to Wings of Steel. Pull up a chair and settle in; Alistair has a lot to share. You can also watch the interview here: https://youtu.be/TM5ojKfbOco

Miloa: Thank you for joining me today, Alistair. Let's start simple: How would you describe yourself?
Alistair: (chuckling) Starting off with the tough questions, are we? If I had to sum it up, I'd say I'm a work in progress. A tangle of good intentions and bad decisions.
Miloa: That's quite the honest assessment. Let's dig into those intentions. What drives you?
Alistair: (pauses thoughtfully) Loyalty. I don't know if it's something I was born with or beaten into me by life, but I can't let the people I care about down. Even when it costs me.
Miloa: Has it cost you before?
Alistair: More times than I care to count. But I'll say this - it's worth it when you know you've stood by someone when they needed you most.
Miloa: That's admirable. Let's go back a bit. What was your childhood like?
Alistair: Complicated. I grew up in a family where expectations were everything. You either succeeded or you were invisible. I spent a lot of time trying to live up to what they wanted, even when it didn't sit right with me.
Miloa: Did you ever push back?
Alistair: Oh, I pushed back, all right. And paid for it. But I also learned something important: standing up for yourself is messy, but it's necessary.
Miloa: Speaking of standing up for yourself, was there someone who influenced that side of you?
Alistair: Yes. My mentor. He taught me resilience, the kind you don't get from books or lectures. He used to say, "Not everything worth keeping comes easy." That stuck with me.
Miloa: That's powerful. Let's fast-forward a bit. If someone met you right before the events of Broken Wings, what would they think of you?
Alistair: (smirking) Depends on who you ask. Some would call me stubborn, others would say I'm loyal to a fault. But most would agree I'm someone you can count on in a storm.
Miloa: And how would you describe that version of yourself?
Alistair: (quietly) A man trying to hold it all together.
Miloa: That's an evocative image. Last question: If you could go back and give younger Alistair one piece of advice, what would it be?
Alistair: (pausing) I'd tell him it's okay to fall apart sometimes. You don't have to carry the weight of the world on your own.
And there you have it, friends - a rare glimpse into the mind and heart of Alistair Oakly. His depth, his struggles, and his drive to protect those he loves make him a character you won't forget.
If you have questions you'd like to ask Alistair, drop them in the comments! Who knows - maybe he'll be willing to answer them in the future.
Happy hunting,
Miloa
